Here are three methods that you can implement to AirPlay to Firestick in 2023.
1. Use the AirScreen Application
Go to your Fire TV’s home screen and look for the search icon. If the Firestick does not support AirPlay, then install an application called AirScreen which is a free application but does have any limitations.
Suppose, you are trying to access Netflix or Hulu, then you might be blocked due to copyright content issues as you need to access them directly on the Firestick. Alternatively, if you want an ad-free option, then get Replica which you can use on iPhone and iPad only, or AirPlayMirror Receiver which is compatible with all Apple devices.
So, using the remote button you have to choose and install the AirScreen application from the Apps and Games tab. After the installation is complete connect the Fire TV stick and the Apple device with the same network.
You can use an iPhone, iPad, or Mac to AirPlay with your screen. Next, launch the AirScreen application on your Firestick, select the AirScreen tile from the application list, or if you are still on the installation screen, then you can directly click on the Open button.
Launch the AirPlay on your iPhone and iPad for which you have to go to the Control Centre and tap the Screen Mirroring icon. Next, tap on the name Firestick and you will see that the iOS device screen is being mirrored on the Fire TV.
If you are using a Mac, then you need to follow the same process – go to the Control Centre and click on the Screen Mirroring icon. Next, select the Firestick and you will find that the screen is being mirrored on the TV. You can now stream through any videos, audio, or applications on the Fire TV.
If you want to stop screen mirroring, return to the Control Centre for the respective device and select the Screen Mirroring icon again. Now, if it turns grey, then it is an indication that the screen mirroring has stopped.
2. Use the iWebTV
iWebTV is a free application that allows you to access your AirPlay content on Firestick through any Apple device. It will only work on iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch but not on Mac. Also, it comes in both free and paid versions. Based on your preference or requirement, you can now connect the iPhone or iPad to the same network as the Fire TV stick.
To play the AirPlay web videos, launch the application and allow it access to the network. Get to the search button and look for YouTube or any videos in particular. Now, on the right corner, tap on the Cast icon and wait for the application to detect Firestick. 3. Use AirPlay on Amazon Fire TV
If you have an Amazon Fire TV, which supports AirPlay, then you do not need to install any further software. However, if your Fire TV model does not support AirPlay, then you can use AirScreen or iWebTV to stream content. So, get to the Home screen of the TV and click on the gear icon to open Settings.
Next, select Display and Sounds to bring up the audio and video options on the TV. You can also select the AirPlay and HomeKit options, only if the TV supports AirPlay. You need to follow the on-screen prompts to activate AirPlay and set it up. This enables you to mirror the screen of your iPhone, iPad, and Mac using AirPlay.
Now, connect the Fire TV and Apple device with the same Wi-FI network. Get to the Control Center of Apple devices and click on the Screen Mirroring icon. From the list, select Fire TV and you will see that the device screen appears on TV. This enables you to stream through audio, games, videos, and any other app on your device.
If you want to stop screen mirroring, then you have to go back to the Control Center and tap on the icon Screen Mirroring to disconnect.
